This app allows you to define your own workout routines, then provides visual and audible cues to guide you through the routine.

By default, two placeholder routines are selectable in the drop-down list. These can be modified or replaced with your own routines. When you click update, your routine will be saved to your browser's local storage and will reload when you visit the app again from the same browser. You can also download all of your routines by clicking the "Download routines" button, allowing more permanent storage or transfer to other browsers.

Routines are defined in JSON format, exemplified by the default routines. The format must be as follows:

  • The entire routine is enclosed in curly braces.
  • There are two parts to the definition: a name, and a series of steps. These two parts are separated by a comma.
  • Specify a name for the routine with "routineName": "Your Routine Name"
  • Then, after a comma, a series of steps are defined by "steps": [ < steps go here > ] .
  • Each step is enclosed in curly braces, and the steps are separated by commas.
  • Each step consists of three parts, separated by commas:
    • A name for the step, specified as "name": "Your exercise name".
    • A prep time for the step, in seconds, to give you time to get in position specified as "prep": 8, for example.
    • A duration for the exercise in this step in seconds, specified as "time": 60, for example.
